How to apply

First of all, you need to contact the International Office at your university about going on an exchange programme. This is to make sure that your home institution has a bilateral exchange agreement with Aarhus School of Marine and Technical Engineering (AAMS).

If your university has an exchange agreement with us, your international office must nominate you by sending an e-mail to our International Coordinator Jannie Sloth Hesselbjerg at jsh@aams.dk.

If your home institution does not have an agreement with AAMS, your International Office can contact Jannie Sloth Hesselbjerg at jsh@aams.dk to explore the opportunity of entering into a bilateral agreement.

Nomination and application deadlines

Autumn semester:

Nominations begin on 1 March, with a nomination and application deadline of 1 May.

Spring semester:

Nominations start on 1 September, with a nomination and application deadline of 1 November.

Once you have been nominated, you will be contacted with instructions on what you should do.

The processing of your application will take a few weeks, and if it is successful, you will receive an official 'Letter of Admission' by e-mail from the International Office.

We are a popular destination and are regrettably often unable to accept all students that apply. Each student will be contacted directly if they are not accepted.

Checklist

Before you fill in our application form, please read about our accommodation options.

The following documents must be uploaded with your application:

  • An official transcript of records from your home university showing your courses and exam results so far
  • Course descriptions briefly describing the contents of the courses you have passed
  • Photograph for your student card, e.g. a jpeg-file
  • Learning Agreement signed by your university

Please note that if you are a non-EU citizen, you must apply for a residence and work permit for students before you arrive in Denmark. We will obviously help you with this, but processing can take a couple of months!

If you have questions regarding any of the above, please contact International Coordinator Jannie Sloth Hesselbjerg at jsh@aams.dk.
